Concept Cladding is dedicated to providing you with the best quality cladding installation service. We know the installation will look great, but we also want to make sure you can rely on the materials to last. As such, we recommend some of the best and most durable materials available today.

Zinc

Zinc is a durable and low-maintenance material which is highly resistant to corrosion. It is very malleable and suitable for soldering which provides great flexibility to bring design concepts to life. It is a natural metal, with a small amount of copper and titanium for added strength and durability. The zinc products we use are sourced from Europe – VM Zinc®, Rhenzink® and elZinc®. Zinc mill finish products are generally a shiny metallic light grey. Zinc products oxidise over time which changes the finish. There are many zinc products available in the market in a range of pre-oxidised or colour finishes. For example:

VM Zinc®
Natural VMZinc (mill finish), Quartz-Zinc® (light grey), Anthra-Zinc® (black), Pigmento® (various shades including Autumn Red, Brown, Lichen Green & Ash Blue) and Azengar (textured light grey).

VM Zinc Technical

el Zinc®
elZinc® Natural (mill finish), elZinc® Slate, elZinc® Rainbow (including blue, red, gold, brown, green & black).
Rheinzink ®
Bright Rolled Zinc (mill finish), Blue Grey Zinc (blue-grey) and Graphite Grey Zinc (dark grey).

Copper

Copper is a classic choice, not just for its looks but also for its time-tested durability. Used widely for its aesthetic potential, it is often made available in alloy form to enhance its appearance and resilience. It is very malleable and can also be soldered making it a great material for giving effect to a diverse range of designs, including the creation of impressive features such as dormers and ornaments and has stunning weathering effects over time. Copper’s resilience and durability make it a great choice for roofing solutions, including gutters and downpipes as when correctly installed it is extremely long lasting, and requires little to no maintenance. The finish of Copper changes over time. The mill finish products are generally a shiny, reddish salmon colour and weather to become dark brown and eventually green. There are many copper products available in the market in a range of pre-oxidised or colour finishes. For example:

KME TECU®
Classic (mill finish), TECU® Oxid (matt brown), TECU® Patina (yellow-green to blue-green), TECU® Iron (reddish-brown), TECU® Zinn (matt silver), TECU® Brass (golden), TECU® Bronze (warm reddish-brown) and TECU® Gold (gold).

Aurubis
Nordic Standard™ (mill finish), Nordic Brown™ (various shades of brown), Nordic Green™ and Nordic Blue™ (various intensity of green or bluish patina), Nordic Royal™ (matte golden-brown), Nordic Brass™ (golden yellow) and Nordic Bronze™ (similar to mill finish).

Aluminium

Aluminium is a metal cladding which provides a cost efficient, quality alternative to copper and zinc. It is lightweight, durable and malleable and is available in a wide range of finishes. Aluminium is resistant to corrosion and is often used in coastal areas. It requires little to no maintenance and also reflects heat and can reduce heat gain in the building. Aluminium offers great uniformity of colour. Being a painted material, it is not subject to the same level of oxidation experienced with the natural copper and zinc products. It is also very compatible with other materials. Aluminium finishes range from classic silver through to dark grey as well as many colour variations, including metallic finishes and finishes which recreate natural materials such as zinc and copper. For example:

Archlad™
Antique Copper, Golden Bark, Storm Grey, Stone Grey, Charcol Black, Satin Black and Silver Grey.

Archclad Naturèl

Vestis™
Copper Roof, Grey Roof, Green Roof, Tesa Di Moro and Graphite Black

Corten Steel

With hues ranging from red to brown, Corten imparts to any building a rustic appearance and solid protection against the elements. Known as ‘weathering steel’ it has remarkable durability and resistance against corrosion. Corten is a steel based material, best-known under the trademark COR-TEN®. The surface is initially a mill finish and then forms a protective layer of rust early which develops and reacts overtime to slow corrosion of the steel. Corten material is long lasting and low maintenance. Initially it is a reddish brown colour, however overtime it becomes darker.
